Roger G. Vieth, M.D.

Dr Vieth, a native of Chicago, attended Downers Grove High School after which he completed his undergraduate work at Duke University. He received his medical degree from Duke University Medical School in 1959, and his internship in General Surgery at Duke University Medical Center. He completed his Residency in Neurosurgery at Durham VA Hospital and residencies in Neurology and Neurosurgery at Duke University Medical Center. At Duke University he has served as Instructor in Neurosurgery and as a committee member of Duke's Admission Committee. At the University of Tennessee Medical School he currently serves as Assistant Professor of Clinical Neurosurgery.

Dr Vieth has been associated with the Christian Medical Society, the Hamilton County Medical Society of the Tennessee Medical Society, and is a past president of the Tennessee Neurological Society of the American Medical Association. He is a member of the Southern Association of Neurological Surgery, The American Association of Neurological Surgery, and The American College of Surgeons and the Congress of Neurological Surgeons. He was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army Active Reserve in 1965. Dr Vieth has received two Research Fellowship Grants from the American Foundation of Allergy, and has been certified by The American Board of Neurological Surgery.

Among his civic activities, Dr Vieth has held Eldership in both the First Presbyterian Church and North Shore Fellowship of Chattanooga. He was a previous director of the Chattanooga Resource Foundation, was chairman of the Chattanooga Metropolitan area "I found It" campaign, past advisory board for the high school division of Campus Crusade for Christ, past board member of Chattanooga Prayer Committee, past board member of the "Albert Long Ministries" and Past board member of the "Ron Hutchcraft Ministries".

Dr Vieth is retired from neurosurgery, but spends much of his time with his wife, Mickey, teaching, writing and volunteering for overseas short-term missions. In the past 16 years, he has traveled to 38 countries to do teaching, medicine and evangelism. These countries include: Central America to Peru and Ecuador; extensively through Africa to Central Asia; the former Soviet Block countries from Ukraine to Albania; Azerbaijan to Russia and Asian countries including China, India, Nepal, Bhutan and Tibet. He has literally been from Kathmandu to Timbuktu.


Melvin L. Butler, M.D.

Dr. Butler, born in Melber, Kentucky, received his B.S. degree from the University of Alabama, and his MD degree from the University's School of Medicine. He received his MHA and MBA from Webster University's San Antonio Campus. His Internship was served at the University Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama while both his Residency in Internal Medicine and Fellowship in Gastroenterology were served at Brooke Army Medical Center, San Antonio Texas. He holds licensure in both Tennessee and Texas with inactive licensure in California. Dr Butler holds Board Certification from the American Board of Medical Examiners, the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Internal Medicine in Gastroenterology.

Dr Butler served as Battalion Surgeon with the 82d Combat Engineers, in Bamberg, Germany and retired with twenty-nine years of continuous service from the US Army Medical Corps as Colonel. While serving he received the Legion of Merit with one oak leaf cluster and the Meritorious Service Medal with three oak leaf clusters. His professional Memberships include: A Fellow in the American College of Physicians, the American Gastroenterological Association, The American College of Legal Medicine and The American Correctional Association.

Dr. Butler's previous Academic Appointments have included: Associate Clinical Professor of Medicine at the University of California San Francisco School of Medicine; Associate Clinical Professor of Medicine University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonia, Texas and Adjunct Assistant Clinical Professor, University of Texas, Arlington School of Nursing, Arlington, Texas.

Among his community activities Dr. Butler has served as Judge in the Irving Texas Teen Court and also served on that City's Community Health Board. Dr. Butler has also served on the Board of Directors of the Hackberry Creek Home Owners Association and hosted Phoenix's KFNX Radio Talk Show, "To Your Good Health".

EDUCATION

Dr. Max Atnip received his Associate of Arts degree from Cumberland College in Lebanon, Tennessee followed by his Bachelor of Science in Human Biology and Doctor of Chiropractic from The National College of Chiropractic, (now the National University of Health Sciences) in Lombard, Illnois. He is Tennessee licensed and is a Board-eligible Chiropractic Orthopedist.

PROFESSIONAL MEMBERSHIPS, AWARDS AND HONORS

He has served as a Consultant to the Tennessee State Board of Chiropractic Examiners and has been twice chosen Chiropractor of the Year by the Tennessee Chiropractic Association. He is also has been twice honored as Cookeville’s Favorite Chiropractor by the Herald Citizen’s Peoples Choice Awards. The Tennessee Chiropractic Association honored him as a Heritage Award Recipient, signifying lifetime achievements. Dr. Atnip is a Fellow of the International College of Chiropractors (FICC), member and two-term President of the Tennessee Chiropractic Association, a member and former Tennessee Delegate to the American Chiropractic Association as well as Past President of the Federation of Tennessee Chiropractors. He also served as president of the Upper Cumberland Chiropractic Association.

Dr Max is a Diplomate of the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners, Member of the Foundation for Chiropractic Education and Research and former Chairman of the Legislative Council to the Tennessee Chiropractic Association. He holds membership in the National University of Health Sciences, College of Chiropractic Alumni Association and is the former Congressional Chairman for the Tennessee Chiropractic Association. He has served as the Chairman of Stars for Chiropractic's Special Children, which benefits Kentuckian’s Children’s Center.

In 1997 & 1998 he was a recipient of the Tennessee Quality Award for High Standards of Excellence in Business Practice Procedures. In 2004 & 2005 he was a finalist for the Better Business Bureau's Torch Award for Marketplace Ethics. Dr. Atnip also received the Upper Cumberland Business Journal’s 2009 Ovation Award Winner for Best Professional Services Overall
